Coca-cola is not only a delicious soft drink, it is also quite an effective meat tenderizer! Diet coke, on the other hand, is completely worthless in both capacities. 2 sirloin steaks (ask us the weight and we ask you "how much can you eat?")
2 large onions
1 cup of beef broth
1 inch of butter
1 tablespoon of sugar
salt and fresh pepper

Cut the onions into rings. Soak the steaks in cola for 10 minutes to soften them and then drain the pop, and season them with salt and pepper.

In a pan, melt an inch of butter over medium heat, and then slap on the steaks. Note: for rare steak use high heat until the sides of the steaks look cooked, for medium steak use medium heat and cook until no juice comes out of it. If you want your steaks well done, You'don't deserve to eat meat so get yourself some "Not-dogs" and char them on the barbecue.

When the steaks are cooked, take them out of the pan and set them aside. Pour the beef broth into the frying pan, bring to a boil and stir in the sugar. Arrange the onions so that the "rings" are all immersed in the broth. Allow these to fry, tossing occasionally until most of the juice has evaporated.

Put the steaks over the bed of onions and let them cook for an additional couple of minutes so they can absorb the juices.

Serves 2 with rice, with or without reservations.
