Grilled Local Fish
with Herbs
Go to your nearest body of water
or stream and catch yourself some fish! This is cheap eating!
Don't worry about "heavy metals" or other poisons, because you
might agree that recession life really isn't worth living anyway…Alternatively,
use the tropical fish in your fancy 1000 gallon fish tank because
you can't afford the upkeep anymore.
1 fish or a handful of pet tropical
fish
2 sprigs of rosemary and thyme, or herbs from your herb garden,
or the forest, etc.
olive oil
salt
pepper
First, monkey around with the fish
using a knife and take out the guts, scales, etc. Then, stuff
the fish with the herbs, salt, and pepper. Rub some olive oil
on the fish.
Put on your hot grill. A small
fish should take about 5 minutes to cook. A larger one, about
6 minutes per side. A small tropical fish will take about 2 minutes.
Turn once or twice to cook on both sides. The fish is done when
it flakes easily, so test with a fork. Avoid overcooking.
Serves 1.
