Your Last Meal Before Dieting
(or, Your First Meal After Giving Up)

When you come to a fork in the road, pick it
up and start eating! Unless you're on a diet, then look at the fork, sulk, sigh, remember that last meal you ate before dieting and look forward to the hedonistic feeding frenzy that awaits you when you hit your goal weight.

Acorn Squash, Made Perfect with Bacon Drippings

 

1 acorn squash
2 tablespoons of bacon drippings (make some bacon, eat the bacon, save the drippings)
¼ teaspoon of freshly grated nutmeg
salt and pepper

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F.

Cut the squash in half laterally and scoop out the seeds.

Drizzle with bacon drippings, nutmeg, salt and pepper. Wrap in aluminum foil.

Put directly on baking sheet in the middle rack in the oven and bake for 45 minutes. Peel off the foil and bake for 15 more minutes.

Serves 2.
